Are you planning to visit Corcovado National Park? Here you’ll find everything you need to know before booking your adventure. Most tours depart from Puerto Jiménez, though we also offer selected departures from Drake Bay.

Most of our tours start from Puerto Jiménez, which is centrally located and easily accessible.If you are staying in Drake Bay, we also offer departures for specific tours such as Sirena or San Pedrillo.

Tours usually start early, between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., depending on the itinerary. We recommend arriving 10 minutes before departure to ensure a smooth start.

All tours include transportation—by boat from Puerto Jiménez to Sirena or from Drake Bay to Sirena or San Pedrillo, and by 4×4 vehicle from Puerto Jiménez to La Leona followed by hiking.

Access varies depending on the route, usually by boat to Sirena or San Pedrillo or by 4×4 plus hiking to La Leona.

Corcovado is one of the most biodiverse regions in the world, and guests often see tapirs, sloths, monkeys, coatis, toucans, macaws, anteaters, and occasionally pumas or ocelots.

Yes—day tours include lunch, while overnight tours include lunch, dinner, and breakfast, and we can accommodate dietary restrictions with prior notice.

We recommend closed hiking shoes, water shoes, a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, lightweight clothing, a rain jacket, a small backpack, a headlamp for night activities, and a waterproof bag for electronics.

The park does not allow single-use plastic bottles, outside food (except for special diets), smoking or vaping, drones, weapons, or sharp objects.

Overnight tours stay at Sirena Ranger Station, which has shared dormitories, bunk beds with mosquito nets, fans, charging stations, and clean restrooms and showers.

Prices include the park permit, certified guide, transportation, and meals when applicable: Sirena Day Tour costs $145, Sirena Overnight $365, Night Walk $60, Caño Island Snorkeling $110, Matapalo Half Day Tour $145, Sirena Day Tour from Drake Bay $125, and La Leona Day Tour $145.

The ideal period is December to April, with limited daily spaces—200 day visitors and 80 overnight visitors allowed at Sirena—so early booking is recommended.
